Imagine receiving plans for a time machine from your future self. You build it, travel through time, and eventually send those same plans to your past self. This creates a closed loop where the plans were never technically designed. The information simply exists, caught in a cycle with no discernible origin. This thought experiment, known as an ontological paradox, forces us to question the very nature of cause and effect. If something can exist without ever being created, what does that imply about our linear understanding of time?
