Nature's engineering provides a simple, powerful solution for creating tiny jumping robots. When flipped over, the click beetle uses a special hinge to store and explosively release energy, launching itself into the air. This 'snap-buckling' motion is incredibly power-amplified. Engineers are now copying this legless design to build micro-robots that can navigate tight spaces or get themselves out of a jam, from disaster zones to inside jet engines.
