Why it looks like thatUnderstanding basic physics can solve everyday annoyances. When you pour liquid from a can with only one hole, it comes out in a messy, intermittent glug because the liquid and incoming air are competing for the same space. A second hole creates a dedicated vent for air to enter. This equalizes the pressure inside and outside the can, allowing the liquid to flow in a smooth, continuous stream. It's a simple, elegant solution to a common fluid dynamics problem.
